1) One day I went out for purchase the grocery items. On the way, a woman asked me, "Excuse me, what is the best way to get to this address?' 3) She was spoken with me in English. She spoke with me in English. 4) But I didn’t know how to answer in English but I know where is it? I didn't know how to answer in English, but I knew where the place she was looking for was. 5) I asked that lady, could you know to speak in tamil? I asked her "Do you know Tamil?" OR I asked her "Do you speak Tamil?" 6) He replied me, yes. She replied "yes". 7) Then I asked the way for address in tamil and She said, thank you in tamil. Then I showed her the way in Tamil and she said 'thank you' in Tamil. 8) That address was: "You go straight along this street and turn to second right". My directions were to go straight along the street and turn at the second right.

( in this sentence i feel here, this is the polite manner to ask) i need one suggestion, shall i continue to write the topic (or) to frame the sentences like dialogue model (for daily practice) . which one is the best to improve my writing as well as speaking in beginners level. I would like to know whether this sentence formation is right or not - If you do not know whether that person is a Tamil speaker, you would say: Do you know Tamil? OR Do you speak Tamil? OR Can you speak tamil? If you wish to be polite and if you know that the person can speak Tamil, the you would say: "Could you speak in Tamil please?" ( in this sentence i feel here, this is the polite manner to ask) In this sentence, I fell this is the polite manner to ask. i need one suggestion, shall i continue to write the topic (or) to frame the sentences like dialogue model (for daily practice) .
