Server Upgrade - Site Unavailable on 26th November 2011 Saturday

Dear IL’ites,

As many of you would have experienced, the site has been facing some performance issues lately. We are going to migrate to a more powerful server to make the site accessibility fast and easy.

Due to server upgrade, site will be unavailable from 5:00 AM IST 26th November 2011 Saturday till 5:00 PM IST 26th November 2011 .

We will reopen as soon as possible.

The link "MY Posts" seems to be broken. Can you please look into this?

I cannot access drops down like new post, my posts, etc. Reputations points and privatge messages I have received. Please check as some functions are not operational now. Also, I do not see an improvement in access speed...if anything it is worse.

Dear All,

The site's migration to a new and more powerful server was completed yesterday (26th Nov Saturday around 11am).

But we did notice issues with some functions like 'My Posts', 'My Threads', 'My Profile', 'New Posts', 'New Threads', etc. Basically those functions related to the search functionality within the database isn't working.

We are very much aware of this and we are working with the Sever Hosting team to get this fixed on priority.

Hang in there till we get this fixed. Thanks for your patience.

You may access private message by clicking on the 'Notifications' menu. If at all you have any unread private messages, it's going to list a drop down there for you.

That is strange! You should definitely see improvement in site loading speed for we have migrated into a server that is much faster and higher capacity than the old one.

I would recommend you try accessing the site in different times during the day and also check the speed of your internet connection. If you still see the site loading slow or see connection timeout issues let us know.

Dear All,

The issue with My posts, My threads, My profile, New Posts, New Threads, etc. has been fixed. It is working fine now.

With the migration to the new server, we are going to work on tweaking it for faster loading and performance.

We notice that some of the users are not able to login to the forums. We are aware of the issue and we are working towards fixing it at the earliest.
