OK another FedEX question I am unable to visit my Professor who will go overseas for few years to take up job as Dean in IVY League. I explained my home situation and asked him to confirm his mailing address because I wish to send him something. FedEX is the best way to deliver what I wish to give But I am checking his building online and it has so many amenities except for DOORMAN How would I safely deliver FedEX to him. One way I know is "don't require signature", in case no one is home I don't face this problem. When I get FedEX, the DOORMAN takes them in and we have to pick up package at front desk Someone please advise @Thoughtful @MalStrom @Laks09 , etc, etc
Oh my! he does live in a posh building but walk few steps the neighborhood is rough I want to make it simple for him to receive package
Oh my I wish i would have thought if that sooner instead I asked to confirm his home address and if he takes the item from office to home it may cause hardship now I’m in a quandary maybe I will see if I can fit in a regular envelope my goodness, I want to keep it simple for my former professor who must be very busy with his move overseas
If size is small enough I may actually send through regular postal mail. At least it will be locked up. I am sending Gift Card in a Shagun Envelope
Sui - You are overthinking about all the negatives here. Hundreds of thousands of mail fly across the country on a daily basis and very few packages get misplaced, lost or stolen. Don’t worry so much. Just mail the gift card to him and he’ll be happy to receive your gift.
Whew, i think you are right I ended up doing regular postal mail with a 5" by 9 " envelope that is padded with bubble wrap. I put the check (I decided it is easier to make check and write heartfelt comments in the memo section) in the shagun envelope and mailed it in the 5" by 9". It was taken to the US Post Office to be stamped (I have no idea how much the package weighs) I hope Professor likes the gift. It is the best I could do in these circumstance.
