    ladies , Need some suggestion.

    My sis's IL Sashtiapthapoorthi is there next week. My sis and BIL want to give some gift for the guest who will be attending the function .

    Could you please give us some suggestions ?

    Have a great celebration. One of our IL member Aruna suggested to give Tulsi or Rose Plants to the guests. I think her idea is excellent.

    What about a nice gift cards for the Book stores or tickets for Kachari etc. instead of "things", these gift will be well spend.

    Gifting plants is a very good idea Also the kachari one. Let me suggest it to my Sis while I wait for responses from Other IL .

    There is a traditional protocol on this. For 60th (sashtiabdhapoorthi) or 80th birthdays (sathabhishekam), the children spend on the function, the parents (ie couple whose birthday celebration it is) provide gifts to all , including their own children!

    Since Sashtiapthapoorthi is a celebration of 60 years of life you could give out some small books like speaking tree,books on simple philosophy of life out to the guests.

    Maybe you could ask your sister's IL's to read a few lines from those books and narrate it to the experience they have had in life...basically to encourage and motivate the younger generation like us :)

    Hi

    Take photos of the guests with Sashtiapthapoorti thambathigal with their family and gift them the photos. (but it takes few days after the function). At the end of the function you can give Tamboola.
