Saroja's special lunch!!

“Saroja, today some important guests are coming. Cook chicken gravy, crab fry and your special minced mutton meat balls for lunch. Make sure you use all your cooking skills and do your best...”

Saroja started to work, but her mind drifted back to the morning...

“Ma, I am very happy today. I have come first in the state level running competition. So today you have to cook something really special...” saying so arun ran away to school.

Saroja did not know what to do. She did not want to disappoint her son. But there was no money with her even to make a simple rasam.

But now, Saroja thought happily “Thank God...as usual I will get the remaining food. Arun will be very happy when I take home all these”

Owing to her excitement, she completed cooking within 2 hours. The food was far more delicious than any other day. May be the reason was she was thinking of her loving son all the way while cooking!!

Everyone had a heavy lunch. Saroja was on cloud nine when one of the guests called her to come to their house and also promised to pay double the amount she was already receiving. But she refused politely.

After all had their lunch and went for the day, she went happily to the kitchen to take home the remaining food. But to her horror, all the utensils were empty.

“Saroja…today food was extra-ordinary that we ate everything. Keep this for your excellent work” saying so she was given 100 Rs.

Saroja went home disappointed. She thought

"Now it is too late to cook anything. Arun does not like hotel food. Hmm, I will cook something nice tomorrow...today I will give him just fermented rice (pazhaiya sadham)"

Arun came home in half-an-hour.

“Sweetheart, tomorrow I will cook something special for you...Today adjust with this honey...”

Saying so she served the fermented rice...

“Yayyyyyy, you have cooked my favorite dish...” arun planted an affectionate kiss on her cheeks.

Saroja overwhelmed with happiness, tears running down her cheeks, hugged him tightly.
