    My sister works and usually buys from Lakshmi silks in Chickpet. Let the name not confuse you ,there are nice dresses from everyday wear to office wear to party wear to bridal wear there.

    I have been buying my shalwar from this shop in jaya nagar 7th block called Lucknow chikan centre. Owners are Mr and Mrs rastogi. It's jus opp nsvk school and cafe day. They have ready mades and also will stich for ya. Have been buying from there for the last 10 years. You can take my name Rani from Singapore and u will get good discount. They have price range starting from Rs 500 to Rs 5000...Give it try!!

    the shop in jayanagar.. u mentioned..do they sell only lucknowi sets or do they sell other designs as well?..
    i have issues with the lucknowi sets.. i am unable to wash them in washing machine..i am too lazy to do handwash..:)

    yes they do have chikan stuff and regular shalwars too,kurtis,sarees i mean lucknowl etc. Do try out that shop and give me your feed back

    Jayanagar is a shopper's paradise. There are plenty of shops for your office wear. Many are designer stores too. Try Bafna opp to JNR shopping complex. Lots of stores also stitch salwars to your taste. I used to buy plain kanchi cotton pieces or even khadhi silk and get it stitched according to my requirements adding embellishments and all. One can always pick a design from a fashion magazine that most tailors carry.
    If north indian style zardosi work are required, then I would go to those narrows streets in Commercials, wonderful tailors.
    My taste is mostly pastels or self-color designs. My favourites for office parties are dresses from state-wise stores like Lepakshi, Gurjari and more on Residency road. They are elegant and graceful.

    Can any one guide me where in i can get good and reasonable dress material shops in gandhi bazar?:)

    There's a new shop called 'Awesome' on DVG Road. They seem to have good materials. Otherwise I prefer at VeePee Collections. And also there's Sneha Silks!

    You can try in Padma fashions . Its opposite to Vittal dresses on DVG road. I am buying there from 10 yrs and he has a nice collection.Vee Pee is also good.
