The Congress Party decision to award the Rajiv Gandhi Award to the eternal “Bad Boy” of Bollywood has flummoxed many. Apart from his many infamous escapades in the Industry, Salman is also legally entangled in a “hit and run” case as well as “poaching of a Chinkara” case. However the Congress is of the opinionthese things don’t matter! "We don't mean to influence the court's decision. We just want to honor him as an entertainer and that's why we are giving him this award," said Charanjit Sapra, Vice President, Mumbai Congress and Convener, Rajiv Gandhi Awards. Here is what the Opposition Party BJP had to say about the whole controversy: "It is a tradition of Congress to always glorify criminals and those who don't follow the law of land," said Madhu Chavan, BJP spokesperson.
aarti a very good point put across. Though i agree with both sides of the parties but still we have to remember that Rewarding Bad Behaviour is like Breeding Bad Behaviour which would do no good to anyone...so finally did Salman get the award or not.??
