Right Age For “mammogram” ?

    What is the right age?
    My neighbors say 38..

    Google it says 45 and some links 40..

    which is the correct age?

    Please talk to your doctor. She can suggest you when to start. It depends on your family history of breast cancer as well. If your family has a history you might need to get it done every year no matter the age. They do some kind of analysis to get your % chance of getting BC. I have family history of BC, and no detailed genetic testing was done on the affected relative, so I have my mamograms and ultra sounds started at 24 ( when I moved to the US). My insurance doesnt pay it, but I do not take risks when it comes to health.

    I started at age 40, but consult your gyn for what's best for you. I get the 3D mammogram. If you have dense tissue they will may suggest doing an additional ultrasound.
