A common man not so rich wants to do honest work, try to find way to increase his worth so that his family can live a good life.

What about the rich. The rich want more money and more power. He will use his resources to keep it this way, irrespective of the effect of it to the rest of the world.

The more one digs into the american political system, the more atrocities can be found.

    Lets look at an example:

In the 1940s the sugar industry was expanding. The more ways they can sneak sugar into kids ( and adults ), there is more money to be made. There was one inconvenience. There was lot of tooth problems ( cavities due to the added sugars - obesity will take much longer to show then ). The sugar industry needed to find a way to keep making more money and they pressurize the dentist society. The dentists are under pressure to prevent cavities without angering the sugar industry and blatantly saying, stop eating sugar.

    They found a solution. Flouride.

There is one problem, fluoride is not good for human beings. It causes cognitive decline, neurological problems etc. How to make sure fluoride is taken in by kids without them even realizing?

The money can make anything happen. The sugar industry lobbies and get fluoride added to water supply. There is no need for a chemical that too as harmful as fluoride to be added to water which is consumed by people.

Years later, over 80% of the United States has fluoride added to water. If you are one of those who has a water filtering system at home with RO which filters fluoride, good for you.

For the rest, pay attention to your water.

A study done in china over the years has found that kids consuming water with fluoride have substantially lesser IQ than kids who don't.

Europe got the same offer from the sugar industry, which Europe promptly rejected.

Always a good idea to look a little deeper into studies such as "a study done .. over the years .. has found .."

    Water Fluoridation Reduces IQ?
Did a New Study Officially Declare That Fluoride Is a Neurotoxin?

My response is only about the quoted "Fluoride --> Lesser IQ" study.

How the sugar industry has for decades manipulated studies and scientists, and misled the public, is quite true and shocking. My comment above is only about that oft-quoted fluoride study.

Looks familiar. Sugar is responsible for cavities in teeth, obesity, and so on. The other day I read wheat is responsible for the various health issues. Well, one can live without sugar and also wheat as alternatives are available.
Then some interested parties will finance some research to prove that lack of sugar in our body leads to..... Lack of protein leads to....
The net result will be more research in different and opposite directions.
Already, aspirin used as a blood thinner is no good. Atorvastatin as a cholesterol controller can lead to some other problems.
My doctor friend says, there is no free lunch. Every medicine we take has side effects.
We live in a modern world where one profession directly or indirectly helps another profession. I guess lawyers would not be needed if there were no crimes.
