    Re: Need recipes....

    Dear Sihi,

Water cress is best eaten as part of a salad. Now a simple recipe can be: toss the watercress with some lettuce( butter/iceberg) shredded carrots. Add a few toasted walnuts/pine nuts/almonds your choice. add some dried cranberries/raisins and sprinkle a little salad dressing of your choice. Italian. Vinegrette or thousan island.

Now for the Brocooli rabe, I have used it as part of a pasta dish or it can be eaten just stri fired. This recipe is from my Italian cookbook and it is good. It is for the stir fried rabe, but i add some boiled and drained pasta( usually penne, rigatoni or big shells are good).

    Ingredients:
2 big bunches of Broccoli Rabe
4 tbsps EVOO ( extra virgin olive oil)
4 garlic cloves, cut into slivers
    1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
    salt and pepper to taste.

    Method:
Bring a large pot of water to boil and slightly salt it. Add the broccolirabe , cover the pot and cook at boil for 5 minutes. Turn the rabe occasionaly so it will cook evenly. Drain the rabe in a colander.
Heat th oil in a large saute pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook till it turns light brown. Add the red pepper flakes, broccoli rabe, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes till tender. Use tongs to turn the rabe so that it cooks evenly.

Now if you are going to add pasta, then cut the rabe into smaller pieces. Also you can add sundried tomatoes to give it a little tang.
Try it and hope you like it.

Re: Need recipe for masala bun

    Dear Sihi,

Our dear MS C has given a recipe for Stuffed and plaited bread. You can try it here:

    http://www.indusladies.com/forums/14019-post48.html

Now , the filling given is of paneer. But you can make a dry potato masala with onions , and use that as filling.

If pressed for time or not willing to go all the way for making the buns from scratch, then you can try the same with Pillsbury Grands Biscuits or Dinner rolls refrigerated dough.

    Hope this helps.
    Vandhana
