Quick wit of Chinni

I tried out uppu seedai for the first time by myself. When preparing, it had come very good. But when we tasted it post puja, it was not crispy. the taste was there.. yet the crunchiness was totally missing. so I was totally disappointed and got mood off. Chinni was pressing me as to why I was dull. In some random mood I uttered

'enakku vaazhkkaiye pidikkala po' (I dont like this life)

She blinked for a nano second then responded

'vaazhkkayaa?? adhu enga kedaikkum?' (Life?? Where will you get that?)

I laughed out inspite of my mood.

Then after some time, I again sighed and called her out -
'Chinni'

'ennamma...?' (What?)

'enakku...' and I stopped (For me...)

'vaazhkaye pudikkala, adhane?' she immediately shot back. (you dont like this life, thats what right?)

later she was narrating this to her grandma over phone

'paatti.. ammakku vaazhkaye pudikkalayam.. andha kaai pudikkalana.. vera edhavadhu sappudalam illa' (grandma, looks like amma doesnt like this life. if she doesnt like this vegetable she can switch to something else, right?)

then I realized that she settled herself with the meaning as 'vazhakkai' (raw banana in tamil) with 'vaazhkai' (life) yes, I had prepared raw banana yesterdy. LOL little Chinni :rotfl
