Hey I got this tip fro my neighbour - instead of sprouting, drying and making ragi powder, I soaked ragi overnight - beat it in mixie with a little water and filtered it. The milk did not have any grains/residue. I boiled it and it came out like halwa ... taste was also good. DD loved it. It is a little painstaking .... but if u can try. I am thinking of extracting and storing milk for 2-3 days ....still thinking.
tried red rice y'day. roasted it and powdered in mixie. Since it was the first time, I make it into a very thin kanji and fed LO with mashed veggies. It tasted better than ragi to me. If she likes it, then I am continuing with ragi kanji and rice kanji (alternate days) with mashed veggies...... for this month.
Poonam and others, dont use jaggery straight on LO's food, it might contain some dusty muddy things. Always boil jaggery separately with water, strain and store the syrup. Add this to purees
shld be avail at any pharmacy. brawns silver spoon ragi.its a product of bangalore ::BRAWN HEALTHCARE INDIA::
