    OP,

    Forgive your husband (although I believe that he should have told it to you before marriage) since it was PRE-MARITAL AFFAIR. Meantime (I am sure you already did by now) be firm that you'll not accept any similar nonsense from him after this.

    Probably his ex was wondering all these years (time flies fast) whether or not to confront you about it or maybe she never got the chance to do so. She may be having lots of resentment on your husband for cheating her, not ending up marrying her etc. and wants to let you know that your husband is not a saint. Or maybe didn't like another innocent woman (you) to bluntly trust your husband thinking he was such a gem before he met you. Or wanted to revenge him for what he did to her and now decided to ruin his peace.
