Hi all, I would like to know some post retirement earning ideas for women. It would help me give the ideas to one of my aunts who is retiring shortly who would like to keep herself busy and to earn some green stuff as well.
She can take free tuitions for students who cannot afford. I think it would keep her busy more than that satisfaction
True. Thanks for the idea. She is already doing it in the evenings She is a very kind woman She is a maths teacher and takes tuition for kids till 6th grade in the evenings. She accepts fee if the parents force her to. Even that she donates for the kids stationery. Students who come to her class does not necessarily has to buy test papers, pen , pencils. She provides it.
Post retiring earning Ideas: -> Content writing -> Question Paper setting for Schools and work as evaluators. -> Methodology teaching for teachers -> Currently E-learning is coming up in India. The tutors,Proof readers n etc is very much required for them. Check them out. -> working with NGO's -> Working with Election commission .Elections are coming up and need lot of man power, who worked with Govt agenecies before. will post few more....
very excellent suggestions by Vemala. My dad was a physics lecturer. After retirment he has taken to teaching, setting question papers etc occasionally. How about part time or temporary position in a school? Is your aunt looking at an extension of her career or something totally different like art, culinary, running an establishment, retail etc.?
Thank you all for the suggestions. I have conveyed the ideas to her and she is happy that she can keep herself equally busy. She is one inspiring person! Thanks a ton! She is not looking at extension of her career, but wants to do something which could keep her busy as like in the school days.
What about some social works. if she believes in god, she can teach small children slokas or conduct sathsangam. if she has forgotten hobbies like embroidery, paintings she can start them. and ask her to sit idle for at least 2 -3 hours a day, she must have missed it for years.
