Wow Woww I have someone like me to share. 'mercilessly..' :)) perfect word. True true, till now my younger one taking my side while teasing, but DH is the culprit who encourage s him with his laughs. When I saw a thread title (kind of)'how to handle ' teen' I thought what can be problematic in that than usual. Now now understood clearly. Today morning he is ordering some varieties for lunch he wanted
Me: what do you do if you go somewhere like hostel/job? How can you adjust with outside food?
DS: it's ok mom in thinking of your rasam(I'm bad in making that) I will manage as it's something better than that punishment.
    :rage::rage::facepalm:
Me: started your drama so early (5.30am)
Yeah mom, need to finish my notes, I need energy na.
@Shanvy seems I'm new to it, so many in and crossed this.

    Hi,

I am new to this forum, don't know where exactly to post my query. I am staying in Anna Nagar west, looking for home tuition for my kids, 3rd std and 1std CBSE. Please let me know if anyone is interested / know any details for best home tuition at reasonable rate.

There is a chennai forum and a subforum for schools. Best is finding from parents of your children's class. If it is sboa you will find details at henry book store. The one opposite sboa matriculation @padmapriyak

@rachaputi my ds has still not moved out of teens. He has just moved to 2nd yr and is still playful and we have those discussions and fun even now. This morning we were having fun with a movie and then
    Me: ds please shave
Ds : amma am having my holiday
Me: please it is so shabby
Ds: you are not my gf nor i have one to shave now.
Me: maybe you should shave and go out to make one
Ds : why don't you come and help me find one for.
Me : she won't be gf them..

The rest of the banter continued to more
Discussion on relationships and how to balance between mother and gf. ( seriously the young man wants pointers and i am at witsend somedays.i am his sounding board for everything from his crush to hacking.)

It is a nice phase where mom and kids become more of friends and the relationship blossoming is so great if we as parents tread and deal it carefully. Giving space, understanding and allowing them to talk without hesitations.

I feel happy reading all the positive posts. Most of you are setting examples to the society. Most of you have clearly depicted that beating children is not the solution. Hats off!

    Hi All,

Can someone help me with my problem
I am married for 15 yrs and it was a love marriage. We live in a joint family and share same kitchen with brother in law family and MIL and FIL. No SIL I have.

All is fine but my problem is unique I think. My inlaws backstab me by doing gossip about me at home and I think that’s the reason that my 13 year old son avoids talking to me and I cannot bear that. I just talk to my son from my side but he don’t since 4-5months. Don’t know if its due to his age or something else. He is very intelligent and topper in class too but am worried as per mom son relation which I am not seeing anywhere.

For example my MIL once told him that I didn’t fed him with my milk when he was an infant. Then I gave him explanation that I had not enough feed to give him and the pediatrician suggested to give you lactogen milk to fulfil the hunger for the infant kid. I was devastated and found this cheap. I do job and my cooking part at home too. But my in laws think I should do only household work when m at home and no rest and no outing. I can ignore everything but don’t want to ruin my relation with my teenage son. He is my life and I want his love that’s all. Can anyone please help?

My grandma (dad's Mom) is like your MIL added a aunt ( dad's sis)they used feed me n my sibling against my mom, at one point I think it's around my 14 yrs. I understood and what my grandma and Aunt were doing. I told them I know what my mom is. You guys can't separate a mom and child. That day my mom hugged me and cried.
Your son would soon understand when mil starts backbiting about your son. Don't worry. Spend more time with son, do pick drop at school and other classes. Discuss career plans, higher studies. Daily discuss Current affairs and invite his friends for tea and during holidays invite his friends for lunch and let them watch a movie.

hey ladies! I hope everyone is fine and happy in their homes with their families. I would also share my story with you all. I am 36 and a mother of 5 children. Luckily, I got married to the man I love. We were very happy and together for years before our marriage. But this love became stronger when I gave birth to our triplets. In 2004, we had a son and 2 daughters. I was 22 and my man was a year older than me. It was a very challenging task to manage 3 kids at the same time. We don't know how we managed them. we were busy with them and in 2007, I again got pregnant with our son. It was a surprise for us both and also very difficult. Now when we look back at that time, we can't believe that we survived through that. But it was not all bad time. we learned a lot and the main thing that we got closer together and our love grew stronger. then in 2011. I had a miscarriage due to an accident. They were twins and were 9 weeks old. It was a very sad period of time for both of us. And I also got some health issues. I really took great care of myself and also my husband has always been very caring and supportive. So I recovered very well and in 2015 God gave us our youngest angel our son. I would say I am a blessed woman. Blessed with these angels and their father who is also a true angel. I hope that everyone is blessed by a happy and complete family. no one deserves to lack this happiness in their lives. God bless you all!
