    • To be irritated by criticism is to acknowledge it was deserved.

    • One must be poor to know the luxury of giving.

    • Beware of the flatterer; he feeds you with an empty spoon.

    • The value is not in the journey’s end, but in the journey itself.

    • Maturity begins to grow when you can sense your concern for others, out weighing your concern for yourself.

    • Success is never final and failure never fatal, it is the courage that counts.

    • One of the most difficult things to give away is kindness, it is usually returned.

    • Experiences shouldn’t be prerecorded to be” aired.” Later in life. I have watched people at Yellowstone, so bent on collecting” records” to enjoy later that they missed the beauty of the park. They were so busy shooting pictures, buying souvenirs, T-shirts and maps that they never took a minute to stand and soak in that spectacular place. We can’t prerecord our life to replay, because at the replay we are only spectators. The joy comes from the participation. Preoccupation with preservation doesn’t heighten an experience, it diminishes it.

    • vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell.

    • The greatest pleasure is to do a good action by stealth and have it find out by accident.

    • Success is not an elevator but a staircase.

    • Science at best is not wisdom; it is knowledge. Wisdom is knowledge with judgement.

    Dear Pushpa,

These are indeed points to ponder and understand and I think that the following two are the best ones.

Beware of the flatterer; he feeds you with an empty spoon.

To be irritated by criticism is to acknowledge it was deserved.
