    Wanted to know some kannada brahmin surnames.. Like adiga, atherya etc.. Hiremath is also there right?

    My DH would have had a mouthful 'Nuggehallisunderajiyengar' had he kept the family name . Haha! Fortunately his parents decided just to give both their given names as a surname for him and his brother. Nugge halli is a small village from whence a lot of Iyengars have come. But this information is quite easy to find and most people can recognise a Brahmin name so I am also curious as to what your real reason is?
