About govt. school adoption program: Understanding the challenges faced by govt school, Isha is leveraging its experience in setting up and running Isha Vidhya English-medium schools in the rural districts of Tamil Nadu to enhance the quality of education. Interventions include inducting additional trained teachers along with remedial classes and extracurricular activities such as yoga, sports, arts and music. Health camps are conducted and hygienic conditions are ensured. Above all, the program strives to induce a spirit of enthusiasm and joy in each child. This will result in several thousands of children benefiting from a meaningful education, transforming their lives. From 2011-12, till date 31 schools have been adopted in Dharmapuri, Coimbatore and Salem districts which benefit over 28,000 students.
