I think you can get cheap sarees and also good ones from Alukkas,Tiruvalla, if any of you guys are from Central travancore. I myself have bought from there, there are a wide range of sarees,good selection too starting from the cheapest to the highest range. Enjoy shopping......!!!! LeenaMG

Hi, You will get traditional sarees in most of the saree centres in kerala. Karalkada is very popular,but real expensive.If you can post which place in kerala you will be visiting, I can suggest you a shop in that place.
Kasavu kada is also famous for traditional sarees. Kalyan silks, kottayam has an entire floor for sarees below Rs. 1500, but you need to reach there early in the morning; they'll have a fresh stock then. Seems like all good ones will be sold out everyday by noon. But everywhere prices are skyrocketing.
