I know this is a ladies site but I am concerned about my Uncle.

He is living in pain (one of the reasons he feels TAVR is useless because long life will make him have pain longer)

His Urologist appt is far away.

I was researching solutions to his Diagnosis and one of them says to try Pelvis Myofacial Release exercises.

I am unable to find these exercises specific to men.

When I go to YouTUBE I see videos where people talk and talk and talk, not any action.

I know lot of males are a$$holes and that is why we don’t bother with them, but he is one of the few gems. Please help.

    SD,
You shouldn't be finding these things on the internet for your uncle. He is of an advanced age and he is in consideration for surgery. You need to get his Dr to suggest a physical therapist to rehab his pain. Please don't do this any other way. Once a qualified PT has accessed and shown him his exercises, you can record it and help with it at home.

Urologist appt is several weeks away.

I felt sad that he was in pain because it also bought mpback my personal bad memories

I hope Dr will give prescription for this special type of Physical Therapist

Try calling back and be asked to put on a wait list for cancellation appointments. I usually do that with long waits and have got called for earlier canceled spots.

I understand your concern. It’s hard to see a loved one in pain. But if you try something and he starts hurting more it’s going to be worse for both of you.

Sometimes, when you Google conditions, such remedies and fixes do show up. It’s important to sift and find verified information. His doctor is the best person to give advice on surgery or non surgical options. You can go for a second opinion with another MD if required.

Try not to second guess the Drs. There are bad apples but there are far too many good experiences people have with medical professionals. We hear more about bad experiences because that’s mostly what people share online. If I went to a Dr and had a wonderful experience, I probably wouldn’t be going to review sites with it because that’s what is expected of the Dr. If they mixed up test results or made a mess of the appointment, I would definitely go to yelp, Google and whatever other site to ensure everyone knows how incapable they are.

I hope your uncle starts recovering and feeling better soon. It’s hard to get old in this country. He’s lucky to have a niece like you willing to pitch in. I wish I had the time for my uncles and aunts. You are doing everything you possibly can to keep him healthy. Don’t be too harsh on yourself.

If your uncle is in serious discomfort then call his primary physician and ask them if they can help get him in to see the specialist earlier.

    Thank you for your reassurances

it certainly is hard to get old here.

I’m scared what if exercise causes worse pain.

I’m wondering if Dr can send prescription for this type of physical therapist before the appt (will see if he can be on waitlist for earlier appt)

Today my Uncle was too tired to discuss all of this, will see when is good time to discuss

Also we live in area that isn’t too developed so we are around more incapable Doctors. Now we are looking to travel further for the more competent Doctors.

I hope he gets well soon too!

Will try this - she is on vacation and is in her own independent practice.

@Rihana I speak from my experiences. This is similar to many on IL forums.

I’ve even gotten hostility when I try to help my Uncle but if I try to help my Aunt, then no hostility.
