Pedialyte For Senior Citizens - Inconsistent Info On Label

Senior citizen has chronic low sodium and chloride in blood

Always tries to take sodium tablets, sea salt, and drink less water

If normal sodium level is 135, it is usually 133 132

Now is is 129

Medical websites say have electrolyte drink such as Pedialyte. We found NO SUGAR one.

However we have questions and concerns that even the manufacturers are not answering quickly (I have been in contact via Facebook)

1. Pedialyte says they have Sodium, Chloride and Potassium, yet Chloride is not listed in ingredients. Please explain, Pedialyte® Electrolyte Water Fruit Punch Flavor

2. When to take Pedialyte? On full stomach? On empty stomach? If on empty stomach, how many hours before food, how many hours after food?

3. Pedialyte says there are 3 servings, yet it says discard after 48 hours. So if person takes one serving per day, does it mean discard after 2 days, i.e. when there is 1/3 the content left?

pedialyte comes in different flavors comes in liquid form or also comes in freezer pops where you can freeze it and take it as popsicle or can have it like a liquid which comes in individual 2 ounce packs of 10 or 12 packs in a box..

i dont think its coming in any sugar free form.

it can be taken any time and take as much as they can have it if there is diabetic issue,
because the liter bottle get contaminated with often use its better to discard it.. other wise there are some small bottle coming see if they have it anywhere..

its showing there is zero sugar pedialyte in walgreens..
to restore the fluid lost thru diarrhea/vomiting or not eating enough food and becoming weak can use this pedialyte , other substitute are can also give ginger ale.. and gatorade..
pedialyte and ginger ale can be mixed together too..

In case of seniors already undergoing treatment for chronic issues and other makadiies such as bp heart kidny liver diseases, one has got to be very cautious in the dosage.

Perhaps that is why no Dr ever suggested an electrolyte drink. At most one Dr suggested increasing Protein to retain Sodium, i.e. even in the form of a Protein drink, like Ensure
