ஊரார் பிள்ளையை ஊட்டி வளர்த்தால்
தன பிள்ளை தானே வளரும் .
Normally the proverb is used in the sense" If you help others your family will flourish"

The real meaning attributed in olden days is as follows:

Ooraar pillai refers to the daughter-in law of the house who has come from a different place or family.
The pazhamozhi is an advice to the husband to take care of his pregnant wife by giving good nourishments to her during pregnancy so that his child in her grows healthy.

But the politicians swear by the name of God that they have no time to find different meanings of the old sayings.
They are straight forward and honest.They mean what they say .
ஊராருக்கு இலவச சலுகை வழங்கினால் தன செல்வம் தானாகவே பெருகும் .
So we have been suitably advised not to strain ourselves by searching for inner meanings,while the popular meaning itself
is very much relevant and of great practical significance especially during elections.
( It is altogether a different question as to where the சலுகை money comes from)
