parboiled rice for idli?

Dear laxmi

I tried parboiled rice once for Idli . My idli turned out to be a stone ( light light brown colour too).
Some kinds of white rice can be used for Idli and here get LULU white rice and Idli is soft and nice.
STill i have the parboiled rice with me ( nearly 2 Kgs).
Can anyone give a receipe or any ideas to me??????

 

Hi Jaya, you can prepare Sweet Puttu, Dosa, Adai with that, if not idli.

I also used to use the Parboiled rice, but the idlis could be used for frisbies, they used to be that hard.
I use Idli rice now and the idlis are super soft.

As idli rice is costlier, I use them for idlis and for dosas I use the local store bought Parboiled rice
