    1) colour (which colours to be mixed) of Krishna and Radha
    2) Outline(for drawing the features,shading ) colour of face
    3)Should I paint the face and then draw the features like eyes,nose etc?Or should I paint around the features?

    soryy for the late reply!
    ans: 1). in tanjore we dont do a blue krishna - skin colour is a lot of white + a dot of crimson
    radha - skin colour is a lot of white + a dot of chrome yellow medium.
    2). outlne for both krishna and radha will be equal amounts of crimson+ burnt umber, dil paint of the same combo should be used to shade both krishna and radha. blue for krishna and flesh colour for radha is done only in commercial paintings.tsktsk
    3). u have to paint the face and all the features and then outline the face- the features have to be painted on top of the skin colour!
    pls do read my instructions thoroughly!

    Hi Su ma'am,
    Thanks for clarifying my doubts regarding the colours to be used.I have a copy(coulour xerox) of the painting,but the colours are not accurate.Radha looks jaundiced!Thats why I didnt want to take any chances with mixing colours.For my previous painting(s),my teacher did the face,as I was a bit nervous.Though he gave instructions,he didnt teach properly,nor did he teach how to make the board.He kept dodging when I wanted to learn that.Its really nice of u to share all your knowledge with us.

    I stay in Bedok. So thats quite nearby,right?I've been to Ikea a few times,so I know that place.Yep,it would be great if we could meet sometime,generally or for guidance in tanjore painting.I think that though the whole procedure of tanjore art takes a lot of patience and skill,if the facial features are not good,then the whole effort goes down the drain!

    Antique tangore painting

    hi all
    So far i have done many tanjore paintings, but i am little bit concern how to make antique tanjore painting. I know there is mat finish gold foil to be used instead of regular gold foil. the dullcolor paints to be used. is there any other technics to make the paint antique

    yes, i meant queenstown - alexandra road ikea not tampines!
    it is i the same east-west line - green one which we both use!

    why do you want to make it antique now ? :eek:mg: it will automatically turn antique when it crosses 25 years! let things age naturally!:notthatway:
