    Dear Malathi,

    "where has my happiness gone"?

"It is gone into the sacred fire
Surely you place your son's happiness higher
Than the desire to cling on to him for life
If that wasn't so, why bring him a wife?"

Or did you bring her to be insurance for his old age
And to be a housemaid without a wage
Mil have you forgotten the day
When as a dil you came away
From your parents home, dreams in your eyes
And were left with no more than tears and sighs?"

This is how I feel whenever I think about mils who want their sons to get married, but the dils to stay like wall flowers in the background, ready to be the son's old age insurance plan.

Waiting eagerly to read your sequel "Out of the pages of a daughter-in-law's diary"!!!!! :) :thumbsup

Satchi, that's a good reply you have posted from the pages of a DIL's diary as malathy has not yet come out with her DIL's page.
