பொய்ப் பத்து

1. ஆர்க்கலி உலகத்து மக்கட்கு எல்லாம்-
பேர் அறிவினோன் இனிது வாழாமை பொய்.

மிக்க அறிவுள்ளவன் ( பின் வருவதை முன்னே அறிந்தவன்) இனிமையாக/நிம்மதியாக வாழ்வதில்லை என்பது நினைப்பது பொய்யே (இனிமையாக வாழ்வான் என்பதே உண்மை)

The statement, 'intelligent people suffer' is untrue, (as intelligent people do foresee the changes in the future and be prepared to face it)

2. பெருஞ் சீரோன்தன் வெகுளி இன்மை பொய்.

பெரும் செல்வம் உடையவனுக்கு கோபம் இருக்காது என்பது பொய்யான எண்ணமே.

Wealthy people do not get angry, is a false statement.

3. கள் உண்போன் சோர்வு இன்மை பொய்.

கள் குடித்தவன் தடுமாறாமல் இருப்பான் என்று எண்ணுவது பொய்.

Drunkards do not totter (physically and mentally)..is again a false statement.

4. காலம் அறியாதோன் கையுறல் பொய்.

உரிய காலத்தில் செய்யத் தொடங்காத செயலுக்கு நல்ல பலன் கிடைக்கும் என்பது நினைப்பது சரியானதல்ல.

The jobs which were not initiated at the right time, do not yield good results.

5. மேல் வரவு அறியாதோன் தற் காத்தல் பொய்.

பின்னே வரும் நல்லது கெட்டதுகளை அறியாதவன், தன்னை பாதுக்காத்துக் கொள்ளுதல் இயலாது.

One who cannot foresee and be prepared to face any situation in the future, cannot protect himself.

6. உறு வினை காய்வோன் உயர்வு வேண்டல் பொய்.

வேலை/முயற்சி செய்வதை வெறுப்பவன், உயர்வை எதிர்நோக்கி இருப்பது கூடாது.

Lazy ones cannot think about high standards in their life.

7. சிறுமை நோனாதோன் பெருமை வேண்டல் பொய்.

அடங்கி நடக்கத் தெரியாதவர் பெருமையை வேண்டுதல் வீணே.

When a person does not know how to obey/respect others, cannot expect any fame for themselves.

8. பெருமை நோனாதோன் சிறுமை வேண்டல் பொய்.

பிறர் தன்னை பெருமையாக பேசுதலை விரும்பாதவன், கீழ்மையான குணத்தை விரும்புவான் என எண்ணுவது மடத்தனம்.

It is absurd to think that those who do not like fame, like mean qualities.

9. பொருள் நசை வேட்கையோன் முறை செயல் பொய்.

பேராசையோடு இருப்பவனிடம், நீதி நேர்மை எதிர்பார்ப்பது வீணே.

One cannot expect good judgment from a greedy person.

10. வாலியன் அல்லாதோன் தவம் செய்தல் பொய்.

மனதில் தூய்மை இல்லாதவன் தவம் செய்ய முடியாது.

One cannot do penance with an impure heart.
