That answer was simply class! I totally agree with the answers your friends gave. Those were the most reasonable and straightforward answers to the questions asked.

After all these years of working in various places in different capacities, I have realized that I need to be my own boss and I am perfectly happy doing what I am.

Syamala, this kind of discrimination is rampant. I remember when I went for my first job, I got in and then my boss told me that the director took me in because he was sure I would not be getting married for a while. So damned if you are married, damned if you aren't (because you just might), damned if you have kids and damned if you don't. The world is not fit to host women and children.

Thanks so much Kamal. I would truly recommend every human being to take some time off for themselves to do just what they want to without any "shoulds" or "musts" and then see if it is not adequate compensation for what one does.

Having said that, I cannot deny that life is not always the same. There could be times when one does not have the luxury of living on one's own terms and conditions and we certainly need money to survive. But it is always a question of how much do we need and how much is enough? The definition is of course very personal.
