    Hi all

i am in my 20th week of preganancy, is it good to have Quaker's White Oats with milk in the morning.

My MIL insisted me not to take Oats during preganancy, as it reduce the cholestrol level. Is it true?

    Please advice.shakehead

    Hello Vasumathy,

Congrats on your pregnancy. Oats is a very hea;lthy cereal to take during pregnancy. There are no side effects and it is good for you. Yes it does reduce cholesterol levels, but not that drastically that it will affect your pregnancy.
Hope this helps. Do try out all the various Oats recipes given by Mrs chitvish in the kitchen section here.

Oats just doesn't remove all the cholesterol in the body so not to worry. Its a good source of iron and fiber too. Since it is complex carbohydates it will be absorbed slowly in the body and that helps regulate your blood sugar too. Remember to continue taking oats even after delivery as it will help in breast milk production too.
