Hi Kiran, I am in the same situation now. Planning to move hyderabad, india next year and considering Oakridge for my 9 yrs old. Could you please share your experiences with me...Also I am in dilemma with what education board like CBSE or ICSE or IB. what school and what board did you enroll the kid finally.
Welcome to Indusladies! What kind of board depends upon the parent's wallet and expectations of what an education at school should bring to the child. If you want the kid to be exposed to a diverse section of the society (which is my view, is a great learning experience), I would stick with CBSE/ICSE. IB tends to attract only the rich and NRIs. Also would your child be doing college in India or abroad? India- stick to CBSE/ICSE. Once you decide on that, it really does not matter much whether you select CBSE or ICSE. Pick a school with the least commute to home, reasonably priced and having good teachers and a decent playground. The rest will fall in line. Talk to the principal about assistance for second/third language as that might the one issue that you would have to resolve. Oakridge is a good school, pricey though. Sloka, DPS, Geetanjali, Hyderabad Public school are other good schools.
