    Not worry about the money Airports, Railways and bus stations will accept the old notes. After Dec 30th with a valid proof you can exchange or deposit the money into your bank account.

    The only option - verified at the local currency exchange, also.

    A “band-aid” solution is to send the cash that you have through a relative/friend who is traveling to India before December 30th and have him convert the money at any Indian bank.

    Transactions in INR and conversion of INR to foreign currency is paused as of now abroad. Did any of you successfully get the notes converted abroad?

    In case a person travels with lot of INR, will it be a problem? Any idea on this?

    Edited. A lot of INR = more than Rs.5000

    No, they aren't accepting in airports too. So I'm sending Indian currency through one of friends who is going to India for vacation ..
