    Dear friends, i 've two sister in laws, they both deliver girl babies, my 1 st sister in law baby 5 months , my 2nd sister in law baby 20 days , my husband is a [thai mama] so we do something different & great friends put your valuable sugesstion here .

    If not gold, nursery items like crib, glider, bedding set, nursery decor, dresses/frocks for the baby.

    In US its not easy to find help for household chores, so I personally prefer gifting housecleaning service/ baby sitting services. This way new parents can take a break.

    Hi Dear apart from Gold if u wanna give something different present a baby todler which would be helpful for them. They can use this until 3years.

    In addition to gifts for the baby, I think its always a good idea to give something to the mother.

    other than gold...you can put same money in some kind of fixed deposits in banks..or post office fixed deposits are very good for kids...if they are in India..
