    One suggestion I can give is at every some interval... take some money, say 1K each, from both of your salary and tie it down into an asset like gold coins/bullion or CD(cerficate deposit - FD in India) ... bonds.... something your DH does not have access to. When there is no liquid cash... he cannot spend it. Put it away for your kids future.. your DH cannot argue that.
