    Hello,

Even my younger sister is having thyroid problem for the last 4 years... She is taking Thyroxin daily... Doctors tell that she will have to take the tablet life long... She is only 24 now.. She experienced swelling of the neck, that is how we identified the problem. She has pain of hands and legs in between...

But otherwise, she is healthy now, with the tablets daily...

For your mother, as others suggested, an operation is necessary only if there are any lumps in the thyroid gland...

    Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for ur suggestions. I really appreciate it.

My Mother went to Dr.Moorthy in chennai.
She has undergone all tests and the Doctor has asked my mother to get into a surgeon in chennai-Dr.Vital( Thyroid Specialist)
He said that my mother has two lumps in her throat and it should be removed.
My mother has undergone the operation last week and now she is doing good.
and the doctor also advised her to take the medicine for her whole Life.

I thank every one once more for giving me a best suggestions.

    Ever Friendly
    Aana

    Dear Friends

Even i have THYROID for past 5 yrs, initialy i was having HYPO and now it turns to HYPER, dont know y, and in the beginning i went to one famous doctor in T.Nagar, but i discontinued him and then nowiam taking treatment with leading Endocrine specialist, DR.VITTAL , i have to say about him, he is THE BEST DOCTOR FOR THYROID TREATMNET, very very kind, not money minded, you can trust him and take ur treatment

Even for me, it will be fluctuation, depending upon the results, he will prescribe me tablets and dosage, i have been taking NEOMERCLOUS from the begining for both the thryoid and if i come to normal , he will ask me to stop the tablet

But even he used to wonder is , i have HYPER THYROID and iam gaining weighht day by day ( i think hyper people will lose weight), its adverse in my case.ALL FATE bonkbonk

Now, i felt tired with the treatments and stopped taking tablets nor visintg doctor, depressed due to my weight gain inspite of folowuing some diet restrictions ( not harsh diet )

Atlast, i decided to go for alternate medicine and started going to something like TOUCH THERAPHY

But onceagain , i would like to assure you, DR.VITTAL is the best person to treat thyroid problems, he have his own hopsital called

    SAI KRISHNA HOSPITAL
    KILPAUK GARDEN ROAD

    Ph.04426448053

    Wishing you all SPEEDY RECOVERY

If the doctor has determined that it is hyperthyroid (overactive) that is the problem, there is a med that can help greatly. Don't laugh when I tell you this, but.....my cat was getting very skinny (she was starting to look like a skeleton with fur) with a non stop appetite. She would beg to eat and then would beg for more. I took her to the vet and found her thyroid was over active. She now takes a very inexpensive medication twice a day and she has gained weight and her fur has become sleek and shiny again and she no longer begs for food constantly. She now looks wonderful again and seems to be quite content. So, as you can see, it doesn't matter if it's in a cat or a human, there are meds that can help with hyperthyroidism. If you can find a doctor who knows how to treat diabetes well, he/she should be able to deal with thyroid issues.
p.s. in the United States we do love our pets :).
    Regards,
    Paula
