I want to know more about it, whats the qualification needed to do that, how long does it take, how hard is it, is there any time limit to complete the course, do i have to go to school or can i do it from home, is there any tutor available etc. Where can i get more information about it. Is there any one of you done/doing CPA. Suggestions are most welcome. Thanks nalini

Hi Nalini I just saw this post today - I am a CPA - have had my license for almost 15 years now. I dont think it is a hard exam (my personal opinion). There is a lot to study and remember at any given time but if you give it your full commitment, you should not have any problem. I did it when my daughter was about 2 yrs old. You know how demanding 2 yr old can be. I do see that others had replied to you and sent you some links which are all very good. You may have more info at this time. Let me know if you have any questions, and I will try my best to answer them. Take care... Shobana
The CPA license is granted by each state. The requirements vary from state to state in terms of the type of experience required before the license is granted. You should contact the state where you are taking the exam to determine their requirements. I doubt that they will recognize an internship outside the country unless it is with one of the Big 4 firms that have offices in India. It is best you contact the state board of accountancy to determine these requirements.
Dear Shobana, I checked in NASBA.org regarding CPA and it says we need to first evaluate our educational qualification, as we are foreign students. That is need to contact any one of the Education Credential Evaluators to get the credit poings... Is it compulsory ? Pl advise....
