moving to singapore - indian syllabus schools in singapore

Actually we have plans to move to singapore in another 6 months for a period of 2 years.
my family consists of my hubby and 2 children - 5 years and another 6 months baby.
So i want to know how life will be there? also i want to will there be any problem for elder son to join school there? when does the academic year starts there?
is school fees are costly? is there any indian syllabus schools so that he does not have any problem after return to India. how about the house rent there? normally for family of 4 how much so we need to spend there per month other than house rent? will we get any furnished house? so please send me details so that we can plan bit early? then do we need PR to put my son in a school? or not necessary?

Hi Aruna,
Good to hear that you are planning to move singapore, its really a beautiful country, and I can assure you that you will definitely have great experiences, you will get you see many things here. And especailly for kids its really good, and anything will completely depend on our upbringing.
The Quality of life is really good.

so getting to your questions:

To get admission in schools you dont need PR. And you have many Indian schools in singapore like GIIS,Bhavans, Singind: List of Indian Schools in Singapore
School fees is definitely high, depending on schools and the curriculum, you can just go through the site and call them personally.
The academic year starts from Jan and the vacation would be in the months of June and December.(one month each)

And accomodation, you can get from a semi furnished to fully furnished flats,and the rent varies from area to area and depends on the amenities as well, the rents have been hiked now, usually for a 2 BHK the rent varies from 2K S$ to 3K S$ and your expenditure would be some where between 1500 to 2000 S$, which includes school fee, your monthly groceries, and your little kid expenses, Internet, phone connections, SP services i.e current and water bills.
If your sharing with some other family or bachelor, you can save one-third of the expenditure but its completely up to you. sharing is quite common in singapore.
