    hi all,

Iam a housewife of a software profesional with two kids(5, 3) . we would be moving to kl in two or three months(hopefully). my hubbie's office is near hilton hotel petaling jeya.

now iam confused like where to look for house.

we might buy a car, but still iam looking for somewhere closer to all amenities( i want to walk around) and a good school and a quite safe location.
and if possible somewhere 10- 20 min drive or walkable distance from my hubbie's office(it's too much i know).

will it be affordable to get a terrace/semidetached/penthouse/townhouse in this area in a gated community for 3000 rm month.?

one more thing ,can we put our kids in local schools or intl passport holders are allowed only in intl schools ?
are the local schools good enough(like chennai's psbb, chinmaya or dav)?

and oh i almost forgot, we might get a salary of 18k rm min.
with car, good house, school for 2,tend to eat out and travel a lot-:bonkcan we have a relatively smooth life there?

any help would b deeply appreciated.:bowdown(i love these smilies..)

    thankyou..

Subang jaya is far from Hilton Hotel in PJ, you have to catch a train and driving is a hassle as Federal highway is always congested. Brst options is Section 5, Section 17, Section 14, Section 12 and Section 13 PJ. PJ old tows is also very good and convenient. The surrounding area near University Malaya are also very good which is Section 11. One more alternative would be Bangsar which is also very near to PJ Hilton Hotel. Good luck, the area aroung PJ Hilton is very nice and safe as compared to Subang Jaya and the schools are also better.

    it's ok smitha,
subang jaya looked closer to pj even to me when i browsed through google map.

btw i am a little confused about onething.
is it true that inernational schools are the only available option for expatriates.?
i mean i have two kids who are doing ukg and nursery right now.
i thought of putting in them in a full fledge school when we come there.
but looking at the fees of the international schools...i think we better stay in india.:crazy
how is it possible for everyone to join their kids in intl schools?. i can't put them in government schools(heard that the medium of teaching is bahasa malaysia/chinese/tamil only)

aren't there any other private english medium schools with no intl status.?
    please advice.

Just to let you know in Malaysia, the quality of education is far better in the Government schools. Private schools basically caters for expats and therefore I won't expect much. Just normal and nothing extra ordinary. The quality of teachers and facilities are better in Government schools. Malaysian government schools are well funded and therefore they are well staffed and have plenty of resource.
