Moving From Us To Singapore

I am currently working in a bank in US but would like to be closer to my parents in Chennai. I was in US for almost a decade. I am married with a 3 year old. My company has a branch in Singapore so I may be able to move through them. Moving to Chennai is not possible at this time.

Can anyone else who moved from US to Singapore share their experience. More specifically
How did you get a job in Singapore?
Are american degrees and work experiences valued here/ is Singapore work experience required?
Any reputed employment agencies?
Any big differences in the work culture?
How is the career growth in Singapore comparatively?

How often do you visit India?

Any input is appreciated

I live in Singapore for quite some time now , I havent worked in US.

Relevant experience in the field is needed, specific Singapore experience is not usually needed. Ivy leagues of course open doors more easily than the run of the mill. But eventually experience counts.
Any reputed employment agencies?
Any big differences in the work culture?
Working hours can be longer. If work involves other regions like EU/Us, late evening calls/late night calls will likely be there. Working beyond office hours is kinda the norm.
On the other side, you can employ a foreign domestic worker aka full time maid - works to around S$1000 +expenses per month - so a lot of household/child minding chores can be outsourced.
How is the career growth in Singapore comparatively?
Currently market is pretty bad and there is a push to employ locals and so for those in Employment Pass ( equivalent to H1B) is tougher. Home Try to move thru the company you are working first. Of course it basically depends the kind of expertise and talent you have - if it is in demand then you are set otherwise it is hard.
How often do you visit India?
Varies over the years depending on my work/age of children. Once every year or so. But if there is a need/emergency, I can take a couple of days leave near weekend and have a short visit . Flight costs are pretty reasonable and plenty of options.

When you talk about long hours, can you please be more specific? 60 hour weeks are pretty common in US now a days.
How long does it take to get a PR in P1 pass? Is there a salary above which this becomes easier?
Is having your son do national service a concern for any of you? Is it dangerous?
