Mother-Toddler club

Hi ladies,

I was interested in starting a mother-toddler club at my place,in Khalidiyah, on the same lines that I had back in pune.

Basically a club for pre-schoolers where we conducted a lot of activities.
We did 1 hour sessions , 2/3 days a week where we would conduct rounds of learning, group play, song and dance, slideshows etc. While i paid and attended a mother-toddler club, this one - in my complex - was a voluntary activity by all mothers.

Back home we conducted it in our complex gym, so there was lot of space.

Would there be mommies interested in this? A group of 5-6 mommies would be nice.

Would it be difficult to do this in summer time, due to the heat?

Are there any already existing mother-toddler clubs around, with indian members?

If interested mommies got in touch here, we could look at possibilities of starting one. Trust me, it is very good learning and fun experience for a child.

Its a gr8 idea of urs of startn such a club,i will be really eager to put my son in that club,for learning & interactn with other kids .

Hi Smriti,

Good to see your response.
It would be good to have a group of 5 kids to start with. So look around if you can find some interested mommies.
I know 2, but they are going on a long vacation to India, and can join after they are back.

Just to give you an idea of what is usually done in the sessions

>Prayer
>Reading with mommy
> Reading/flashcards with teacher
>Songs/rhymes session
>Excercises/dance
>Group play - like ringaround the roses, passing the parcel etc
>Introduction to fruit / colour etc
>Sometimes some slideshow on DVD or computer
>Crafts like fingerpainting, colouring, dough....etc, there are many
>End with a prayer

This a basic layout. There are many different things that are done in each of these. Btw. mommies with kids as young as 9 months can join with kids as old as say 2-5 years (preschoolers)

I just stopped by to appreciate your effort. I have a son who is 8 years old, so... can't join the club. If you need any help please let me know. I'm free in the mornings. I love to interact with kids.

In summer it's extremely hot here. Most Indians travel to India from mid June to end August as it's the Annual vacation time for schools.

I suppose a get-together of all interested mommies would be good to decide a comforatble time. I thought of taking the sessions at my place , or we can do rounds where we can take turns holding classes each month
