    Panguni uthiram falls on 21/3/08. In all the Vishnu koils as well as Sivan and Murugan koils also Kalyan Uthsavam is performed for the Deities. At Pallikaranai Sri Lakshminarayan Temple Kalyana Uthsavam would be celebrated at 4.30 p.m. Those who are nearby could come and witness the Kalyana Uthsavam and also have darshan of Lord Sangu Chakra Virasakthi Kubera Anjaneyar about whom Malathi has mentioned in her thread. As we are participating in the Kalyana Uthsavam we'll be there.

    TTD conducting srinivasa kalyana mahotsavam in chennai on 6th april at island grounds ...acc to the chairman this occasion would enable devotees to take part in the function free of =cost compared to 1000 per couple at thirumala. laddus and anna prasadam from thirumala will be distributed to all devotees. transport department of TN has made special arrangement to ply more buses. for details 94441 00350 or 2852 9231/32

    Re: Ekadasi and Shashti Vratam

    As far as I understand, Ekadasi is a mainly Vaishnavite fast and people fast on those days, the most important Ekadasi is the Vaikuntha Ekadasi.
    Sashti is a fast for Lord Muruga, and mainly a saivite fast. I think you may also fast on those days, and perhaps recite the Kanda Sashti Kavacham, just like during the 6 day long Skanda Sashti fast.
