Black gram 2-3 red chillies Method: Soak the Channa dal in water until soft. Grind the channa dal in a mixie without adding much water. Ensure that the ground channa dal mixture is a little bit coarse and not a fine paste. Heat oil in a saucepan. Add mustard, allow to splutter, add bengal gram, black gram, red chillies, turmeric. Fry till light brown, then add green mirchi paste. Saute for sometime. Then add methi leaves (ensure that there are no stalks) and fry for sometime. Now add the coarse channa dal mixture in the kadai. Add salt and keep mixing. Initially it may look a bit like a paste but with heat the curry comes out in a powder form. Cook well on a low heat until it is slightly brown and it will look like powder. Put a little ghee to the rice and mix this curry. It tastes delicious.
