Reshmi, I really think you should go with ice cream. Kids love it. You can make it colorful like tutti fruti.
for decorations, I normally build around my cakes. If its a princess cake, perhaps some princess decorations will look nice.

My LO's 2nd birthday is coming and i am all done planning. Only thing I see you are missing is, party favors.

You know..it's a birthday..so do not worry too much about the healthy eating thing.every food has some kind of health stuff in it

how about finger sandwiches, thin crust pizzas, smoothies, dips and veggies ..

the above are all quite healthy too!

as for decorations, u can check out any shop which has party items.

I agree with Aruna. Its a birthday party, dont worry too much about healthy stuff. Its not like they are going to eat this every day. I suggested ice-cream because most kids love it, cold or hot...lol Its also very easy to get it; dont even think about making it at home.

Another favorite with most kids is brownies with whipped cream. But its going to take attention away from your birthday cake. So I didnt suggest it.
You can do cut fruit with hot chocolate on top if you are worried about ice cream.

For party favors, this time I have custom made every bag keeping in mind each kid; only have 8-10 kids coming, so not a big deal. I will post pics after birthday (15th). For three 7 year old's who are coming, they get a beautiful hair clip with a flower in it, assorted chocolates and candy. Boys of that age are getting a dvd with chocolates and candy. Children under two are getting soft toys with infant safe edibles....you get the hint right? I have made separate gift bags with beautiful tissue inside to make the guest feel special.

Mom's are getting candle holder and beautifully wrapped dry fruits ( errr....you tell me if its beautiful or not when i post it) in the favor bag. Guest list is coming about 35 in total. So not too bad. I am not cooking; ordered food from an Indian-pakistani restaurant.

I have rented a town hall Reshmi. I didn't think 35 would fit inside my home. If it was summer then I could have hosted in the back yard but now its not possible.
Also, I havent made any gift bags for men...so basically just for kids (boys and girls) and ladies.

You can approach mcdonalds or kfc for party. You can do there or else you can check if they come home n do it for you.you can also select various themes from their list .they charge per head. Happy birthday to your little one.
