    Dear Neeraja,

    Thanks for your encouraging feedback. These are the kolams @ our home in my hometown drawn by my sister. I joined her in the middle of Marghazhi month and was in India for Pongal :)

    And regarding the sand, we sift the sand (using a sieve) and get a fine sand. This is more like a kolam powder and will not harm your hands. I will check out if I have any big rangolis and post it for you. Do post your rangolis too...
