    Making Our Tomorrow Better.
According to French poet and writer Goethe, historical individuals should be judged by their accomplishments that they made that were beyond those of their time and not the evils common to their day and not by ethics of today. This is the reason that only a few have a made place for themselves in history.
But what we do and what our future generations will do? They will judge us by the ethics of their time, which is natural.
    But facts do not change.
In the Indian context, some of our leaders of the freedom movement, particularly Gandhi and Nehru are being judged today who were not there at that time and who do not really know how tough it was. They are talking as if all that exists today was a gift or alms from the departing British or were created after 2014. Those in their teens and twenties seem to be believing in this. A good majority of them do not know about Bhakra Nangal Dam, various steel plants or scientific institutions, hospitals, medical colleges, universities et el established after 1950.
Come on boys and girls! You are the future of the country. Try not to surpass their accomplishments. Do not get misled by false propaganda. Do not also get misled by the overstatements of any of their supporters. Try to check the facts yourself. There is no easy way to accomplish something great. One has to learn from the past. One has to learn from their achievements and also from their failures or shortcomings.
This is the only way to make tomorrow better.

    Long live India.

    Dear Hari Sir,

There were many accomplishments post independence. Consolidation of princely states has been one such great accomplishments. Green Revolution really helped growth of agricultural sector to make sure there are enough grains to feed the fast increasing population of India. The industralization of the nation happened through 5 year plans (even though I am not a big fan of government-controled growth plan). Textile and Gem and Jewellery industry thrived well to begin with post-independence. The country handled many wars effortlessly besides addressing liberation of Bangladesh to address large-scale immigration of Bangladeshis. From 1991 onwards, India became an open market economy with a few restrictions such as regulated currency, restriction on investment in certain industries, etc. They encouraged foreign direct investment resulting in substantial growth of the software industry to today's level. They have been building infrastructure for many years. Who can forget Lallu Prasad Yadav who redefined (with the help of administrators) how the Railway works! He is still being studied as a management expert in the US universities. PMs Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh commanded so much respect overseas as they are not from a dynasty rule.

As you said rightly, the younger generation should study the history properly and make their own judgment. Disinformation in the internet is significant. There were many great leaders in the past from both parties. Even opposition parties played a wonderful role in shaping the country. Repeating the slogans of the government and considering it as patriotism is ridiculous. Further growth and development should be only by building a great infrastructure, citizens playing their own roles in growth and development as responsible citizens, government becoming an enabler than being a ruler, improving the exports and foreign exchange earnings, research and development, privatizing as much as possible, systematically removing poverty, and bringing multiple income streams to the villages in India.

    Dear Shri Viswa,

Thanks for recounting the achievements. I have always believed that questions should be asked. At the same time, it is also true that decisions have to be taken, which may prove wrong in the future.
Each generation gets an opportunity to not only add value but to salvage the losses also. Some do it better than others but then each generation has its time span.
    As for your-
"The industrialization of the nation happened through 5-year plans (even though I am not a big fan of government-controlled growth plan)."
Those were the times when the private sector could not be expected to invest in basic industry projects with long gestation periods or very few returns. After over 75 years of building the infrastructure, they have entered and are doing better than Government only because Government does not and should not work for profits. It is like helping the kid to walk and set free when able to walk. You must be aware of how the license/permit/Inspector Raj worked.
At the same time, it was foolish to enter into bread making.
