Hi nini82, As I remember last year Makarshankrati held sometime in January. I need to look when is this year. Yes The festival of Makar Shankranti has its own significance in terms of agriculture.People believe during this time they can cut their crops. They celebrates it in the form of Holy festival. In MP,UP,Bihar Indian women celebrates by giving gifts to suhagan women. Last year I also distributed gifts to my 9 friends.
