I thought maah de dal and urad dal was the same, but I was told otherwise. It seems Maah di Dal is bigger???? Please advice, what are the differences.
maah di daal is black whole daal and often cooked with handful of rajma in punjabi household. urad daal - maah ki daal ( black whole daal ) is urad daal itself. Only that it can be whole or broken or shelled ( without black peel, white - used in dosa mixutre)
My relatives wanted the black whole daal I love dosa - I never knew it was made out of urad daal. Maybe that's why lot of Punjabis love dosas.
