Hi there, I have come back to this thread with a correction. I had mentioned that Utsav in Jayanagar 3rd block is a good veg restaurant. Last night we went there for dinner on the occasion of our anniversary...we found that Utsav is closed for good. Hmm!!! :-( So thought of updating this thread! Regards, Hema

How can I not post something here .. being a hardcore foodie !! Has anyone been to Main Land China on Church St ? Oh their lunch buffet is an awesome spread !!! I also like Bheema's next to it.. ( Andhra food ..being my favourite ) I suppose not many would know about the one I am t mention now.. It is called Kholapuri's diagnally opposite to Roti Ghar on Gandhi Bazaar.. It is a very small eat out.. and a taake away is most common.. ( Me and my hubby used to eat there but ) Their biriyani and kebabs are sooo yumm that my mouth drools right now !! They are priced soo good and a couple could have two chicken dishes with 2 biryanis and two bottles of mazaa for just 150 bucks ( thugh earlier.. 1 year ago it was 132 bucks ) !! Visiting this place is a " must " during our stay in Bangalore !!! Yummmmmmmmmmm !!
These were my favourites when I lived there 5 years ago. Badam milk - Aryan bhavan - Gandhi bazaar and Majestic Bhel and chat in a roadside stall in front of Nilgiris, Jayanagar (only in the evenings, in the afternoon in front of NMKRV college PU section) Gobi Machurian - Pavithra restaurant - Jayanagar Puliyogare - Kadambam (now moved and renamed - Puliyogare point, Gandhibazaar) Samosa, cutlet - Hotchips - Jayanagar Andhra food - Bhima's - Church St(I guess) Southindian snacks - Ganesh darshan - Jayanagar Curd rice - Shanbag - Infantry road (dont know whether its still open, but curd rice was to die for) Pakoda - Kanti sweets- Jayanagar (now closed) Kaju burfi - Gangotri Mysore pak - Sri Krishna sweets - Jayanagar, Gandhibazaar Bengali sweets - KC Das - Church st. Pineapple pastry - Sweet chariot - Jayanagar Veggie biryani - Shanbaag - Residency road Ice cream - Corner House - Jayanagar, Airport rd And many that have already been mentioned in this thread
Wow Krutika...that's an interesting list that you've given. This helps in choosing the best in every place! Your list remind me of my college days. I agree with most of your choices. Preethi...yes I've been to Mainland China and it was a good food there. But being a veggie...choice is less for me. And Chinese food ...I never know ...their food preparation methods amaze me and confuse me at the same time. Cheers, Hema
Yummmmmmmmmmm, There is a big list here. Good to choose from when visiting next time. Here goes my favourite. Atria - one of the best is their buffets. ahhh i cannot forget it. very nice food and a big variety. Krishi - Veg buffet in 4th block jaynagar above complex. good veg buffet for a very good rate. Bobby dhaba - my all time fav. great food for great price. place is always crowded but i and my poor dear hubby have waited somtimes for 2 hours to eat their food. but all of them do there. so cannot actually complaint. vidyarthi bhavan, mtr are default landmarks for food in bengalooru. Polar bear outlets for ice cream. they are giving good competition for corner house. check out there death by chocolate. it is very very nice. very good cake they give. they have in jayanagar, near basavangudi polic station, one in jp nagar (nandini) and many other outlets. they are coming up everywhere slowly. latitha's paratha - good paratha but not as good as one from bobby dhaba. kamat bugle rock for jolada rotti oota. healthy food yummmmmmmmm. davangere benne dose of nr colony how to forget it. ymmmmmm the good old VV puram food street. you mention it, you get it. ahhhhh your appetite naturally gets bigger for better food here. Chickpet gallis for the authentic northindian chats. amzing food just like VV puram. the kadhi kachori (correct if wrong) or kadhi samasa cutlet, oh makes me feel go there right away. And please let me know where has bobby dhaba shifted seems to be somewhere near ulsoor itself somebody please give me land mark. missing their food.
