let us find ourselves

When we talk of the word 'freedom' then many things come into our mind. The dictionary meaning suggests that it is the condition or the right of being able or allowed to do, say, think, etc whatever you want to, without being controlled or limited. In true sense freedom is something opposite of bondages. If we think deeply and try to find out our status with respect to freedom and bondages then we will find that externally we are bonded but internally we are free. Within us we have tremendous freedom to think.

Bhagwad Gita" He is true ascetic who never desires or dislikes, who is uninfluenced by the opposites and is easily freed from bondage"

However, this limitless freedom to think becomes a victim of the external world, the past , the future, the desire, the attachment, the situations of paradoxes( happiness and sorrow, profit and loss, success and failure). So to feel the ultimate freedom and to know about its limitless powers we have to have tremendous courage. The courage to take responsibility of our actions and the courage to stand for the truth and higher ideals in life. the external world would take us into the labyrinths of selfishness , greed , name, fame, power etc and would delude us ; but we have to break free from these bondages.

As Swami Vivekananda says
Give up all desire for enjoyment in earth or heaven. Control the organ of the senses and control the mind. Bear every misery without even knowing that you are miserable. Think of nothing but spiritual freedom. It is always for the greater joy that you give up the lesser. This is practical religion- the attainment of freedom with renunciation. Renounce the lower so that you can get to the higher.

So friends let us start our struggle to achieve freedom. We have the objective and the means to achieve it. So let us begin our journey.
