Thanks everyone for your advice and support.I went to the perinatologist today. She told me that there is no problem with the bladder and the less fluid may cause some birth defects.I am normal and healthy and I dont have any blood presure or sugar. The doctor want me to have a termination and send the tissue to lab to check for chromosomal disorders.
She is not sure about the reason.

My husband doesn't want to take any chance and he is asking me to go for a D & C.

    I am totally confused.

If I continue with this pregnancy I may or may not have a healthy baby.

    Help me.

Have you had a nuchal translucency test done? It's done between 11 and 13 weeks and can pinpoint any abnormalities if existing.

also, can you ask for an amnio to be done before terminating the pregnancy?

I understand your pain. I was told something similar by the maternal fetal specialist. Thankfully it was the second incident and I was already around 30 weeks, my gynec decided to keep me hospitalized and induce as soon as possible.
I'm not sure what to say to you except feeling your pain. Looks like your doctors are convinced that something is wrong. You could always request a second opinion. You can try and see a maternal fetal specialist and see what her opinion is. Did you go for a 3D ultrasound? That may help.

    Take care of yourself.

Please get a second opinion, just for your own peace of mind. After that, you and your DH can sit together and decide what is best based on the information. These decisions are never easy. Whatever you decide, Stay strong.

    anoop, ur doc is right
oligohydramnios in late first trimes or early second will most prob lead the a miscarriage in most cases...
i remember one of the moms in oct due date club suffered from oligohydramnios in the early 2nd trimes lost her baby...
anycase u can still take a second opinion... i am not a doc :)
however as mentioned earlier in this thread oligohydramnios in third trimester usually only needs closely watching the fetus and inducing labour...

    Low amniotic fluid
    pls go through this...

    Anoop,

Did your perinatologist say your baby " may " have birth defects ? Can you ask the PN to confirm it with a scan ? The NT is done around this time. I mean anything that could help to show any signs of chromosomal, anatomical defects..

So, that it could just make you feel your decision of going with the doctor's advice was indeed fine.

Just talk more to the PN.. Discuss the same with your Gyn. Take a call them.

Whatever decision you take, keep strong. Take care of your health.

    Anoop,
Hugs to you!! You have taken a good decision.
Having too little amniotic fluid is called oligohydramnios.
Many pregnant women develop oligohydramnios that has no identifiable cause. Known causes of oligohydramnios include:
Premature rupture of the membranes (bag of waters that surrounds the baby).
Birth defects, especially those involving the kidneys and urinary tract. Babies with these birth defects produce less urine, which makes up most of the amniotic fluid.
Post-term pregnancy (a pregnancy that lasts two or more weeks past the due date). Levels of amniotic fluid tend to decrease after the baby reaches full term.
Maternal health conditions, including pregestational diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

    Anoop,
Hugs to you. So sorry to hear that. As Preethi said, don't stress too much.Don't worry too much either. I had asked my doc about a possibility of recurrence in subsequent pregnancies and she had told me that it was a rare possibility.
