Hi Sofi and Kripa,

Sorry ya, I am here in Saudi and my cousin did the work for her brother in laws marriage and I saw the work. They also fromUS. So she did for her old sarees.
The person who did it from Anna nagar. That is all I know about that. I am not having phone number or any detail. If I stay in India means I would have helped you.

Please once again sorry. From here I could not do any thing. But I suggest you one thing, I gave a number of tailors for a lady, which I collected all over Madras. That is in this site only. You can call any body, i.e. tailor, and enquire from him.

all you who want to refresh your old sarees!
In the 9th March issue of Dinakaran, there is writeup about this kind and also about embroidery sarees. It is being done by three women-
Mrs. Kanthimathi,Mrs.Visalakshi and Mrs.Gunamaalai.
They are friends who learned embroidery to pass time and then started to do it for others. Now they are supplying for Chennai Silks and such other shops. They do the work on churidar also. They take up orders also.

In Chennai, they are doing some 'kundan' type work on old pattu saree and make them brand new. Really it is worth doing. You can sellect designs and they will collect our saree from our home and deliver the same with in 3 days.

They are having design books also so that you can choose your design. And the charges also less. Around Rs. 600/= they are charging. But according to your design it may vary.

Next one is Designer's sarees. You can get them and you can use them even in US, since it is a party ware.

Or otherwise, You can get Mysore jarget sarees which are having great thread and stone work. They look very rich . (if you watch Zee or Sony, all the serial heroiens will ware these kind of sarees for the marriage or function in the serial.) You can go for that.

They look very rich and reasonable price and for only rare use. Very light in weight. My brother gifted me one fanta orange + yellow coloured saree last year when he visited India from US.

i too want to know address of the shop who do kundan work on pattu sarees. i have 15 to 20 pattu sarees which i am not using because they r out of fashion.

Dear ILs,
