    Nandana, the eight-year-old daughter of popular playback singer K.S Chithra, drowned in a swimming pool at a Dubai villa, this morning.
    Nandana accidently fell into the pool. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but the doctors failed to revive her.
    The singer was in Dubai, along with her troupe, to take part in a musical extravaganza to celebrate the compositions of Oscar-winning music director A. R. Rahman at Sharjah Cricket Stadium today.
    Chitra, known as the "Little Nightingale" of south India, is a six-time recipient of the national awards.

    She married engineer-businessman Vijayashankar in 1994, and Nandana, their only child, was born in 2002.

    Hi All

    I just read in MSN and thought to share with IL. It was heart breaking to read this news.Dont know how the mother is handling this and only she will know what she is going through. Her only child and that too born after 12years. Cant imagine....
    May her soul rest in peace and god give her the strength to handle this situation.

    Just heard the news. Extremely shocked and saddened to read abt this. How that poor mother can take this........ what a cruel end to a poor and innocent child?

    RiP to the departed Soul. God please give strength to the parents to bear this irreparable loss.

    Oh this is so sad. If its a hotel or a villa for guests dont they have life gaurd watching the pool.
